Royal New Zealand Ballet Cancels Hastings And Gisborne Performances Of Tutus On Tour 2023

Due to the ongoing impacts of Cyclone Gabrielle, the performances of Tutus on Tour in Hastings and Gisborne have been cancelled.

The Royal New Zealand Ballet (RNZB) has today announced that, due to the ongoing community impact of Cyclone Gabrielle in Hawke’s Bay and the East Coast of the North Island, the company’s upcoming performances of Tutus on Tour, due to take place at Toitoi Hawke’s Bay Arts and Events Centre in Hastings this Saturday 25 February and at the Gisborne War Memorial Theatre on Tuesday 28 February and Wednesday 1 March, have been cancelled.

All related events in each region will be cancelled, including public open classes in Gisborne. All ticket holders will be contacted and offered a full refund. Please note that all tickets for these performances have been issued by ticketing agencies contracted by the venues, not the RNZB. Ticketholders will be contacted directly by the respective agencies.

The remaining performances in the Tutus on Tour 2023 season are going ahead as planned, excluding Whanganui which was cancelled last week due to issues with the venue.

The RNZB team looks forward to returning to these two regions, which are loved by the dancers and considered home by some. The RNZB is exploring opportunities to return when the communities are back on their feet. Until then, the entire company sends love and strength to the many people affected by the cyclone.
