Trusts and Foundations

Grants from trusts and foundations, including those distributing funds generated through the gaming industry and regional community trusts, play an increasingly important role in supporting the work of the Royal New Zealand Ballet.

Trusts and foundations strengthen their communities by supporting a range of RNZB activities. Whether choosing to support our successful education and community work, making dance accessible to diverse audiences and sometimes disengaged sectors of society, or the development of dancers and artists, or touring our world-class performances to main and regional centres, these grants greatly enhance the RNZB’s ability and goal to share the joy and benefits of dance for audiences and participants across the country.

With thanks to our partners

We would like to acknowledge the generosity of Pub Charity Limited for its very significant contribution to our annual national touring costs and monthly operating costs associated with the RNZB’s home base in Wellington. We are also very grateful to both The Lion Foundation and Four Winds Foundation for their ongoing and significant support of our national Education, Community and Accessibility programmes.

The regular support of other gaming trusts (NZCT, Aotearoa Gaming Trust) and regional community trusts (Foundation North, Rāta Foundation), helps to ensure that we can continue to be a truly national organisation, delivering the same high standards of performance around the country as well as offering a variety of opportunities for students and the public to engage with the company and with dance on a more personal level.

The assistance of smaller and family-led trusts and foundations, both at the regional and national level, is gratefully acknowledged and makes a real difference to our work, both onstage and behind the scenes. Special thanks to the Friedlander Foundation, Fehl Charitable Trust, Kelliher Charitable Trust, Perpetual Guardian, Walker and Hall Trust and the Trustees Executors.

If you are involved with a grant making organisation that might consider an application from the RNZB, please contact Diane Field, Corporate Development Manager, on 021779077 or diane@rnzb.org.nz to have an initial conversation.
