A dazzling retelling of Dickens’ classic yuletide tale, perfect for family celebrations and festive treats.
Ebenezer Scrooge lives up to his name until one Christmas Eve he is visited by four ghosts, one a remorseful ex-business partner, the others, the ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Future.
Following revelations of joy, warmth and life, Scrooge is also shown darkness, despair and sadness until finally his cold heart is restored to goodwill and happiness by the power of Christmas.
This acclaimed production, created for Northern Ballet – a company noted for its strength in storytelling and creating works as appealing to children as they are to adults (and which brought us Dracula) – and now seen for the first time outside the UK, is an adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic A Christmas Carol. The setting is picture-perfect Victorian and the staging is lively and vivid.
Music for the production was specially created by celebrated film and television composer Carl Davis and includes familiar Christmas carols.
