Joshua Douglas

Joshua Douglas was born in Auckland, New Zealand. He started ballet at the age of 12, training at Philippa Campbell School of Ballet. Josh later commenced full-time training in 2022 at the New Zealand School of Dance, graduating at the end of 2023.  

Josh had the opportunity to perform Val Caniparoli’s Aria at the Royal New Zealand Ballet’s 70th Anniversary Gala, with other repertoire highlights to date including Louglan Prior’s Verse and Lew Christianson’s Vivaldi Concerto Grosso. Participating in a student exchange program with Canada’s National Ballet School in 2023 is also among Josh’s highlights. 

Josh successfully auditioned for the Jette Parker Young Artist program, and joined Queensland Ballet as a young artist in 2024. He now joins the Royal New Zealand Ballet in 2025 as a Friedlander Foundation Scholar.
