Free Companion Seat
RNZB is pleased to offer a free companion seat to any customer with a disability who requires assistance in order to attend a performance. Please mention this when making your booking.
To discuss any specific access requirements at the Aotea Centre, please email: accessibility@aucklandlive.co.nz.
The best mobility access into the Aotea Centre is through level one of the Civic car park or at the northern end of the building, to the right of the front steps. Aotea Centre lifts are located inside the building and go from level 1 (near the car park entrance) up to level 5 (ASB Theatre balcony).
For every show, visually impaired patrons can call Ticketmaster on 09 970 9745 any time before 5pm on the day of the show and they will make sure the front of house team is aware of your needs.

- There are three wheelchair seats available at all times, more can be made available if requested early. Only the initial three have companion seats.
- The Ashburton Events Centre is a single level venue, however the Upper Auditorium entry (Doors B and C) require going up stairs. Seats in this area may not be suitable for patrons with severe vertigo. There are accessible bathrooms available.
- A hearing loop is available throughout the entire venue.
- The venue has two in-house wheelchairs that are available to be used for travel to/from the carpark or within the venue.

- There are two wheelchair spaces available, both with companion seats. Only Row J is wheelchair accessible, as all other seats are tiered.
- Lift access is available for higher levels. There are also accessible bathrooms on site.
- Patrons with vertigo are advised to avoid the Balcony seats.
- Patrons attending with a guide dog are asked to contact the venue ahead of time to ensure there is sufficient space available for the dog.
- There is currently no hearing aid loop.
- Please don’t hesitate to inform the venue staff of any accessibility requirements prior to the show so that they can help as best they can.
For bookings with special seating requirements such as wheelchair access, hearing difficulties or companion seating notify the box office by phone, or in person at the Carterton Events Centre. General ticketing is run through the venue.
There are two accessible parks on Holloway Street, across the road from the venue or to the left of the venue by the Community Courthouse. Street parking in the area is all wheelchair friendly.
A tour of the venue is available via google maps. Please note, this shows one of many seating configurations.

- The Carterton Events Centre is a single layer venue, however the seating block is not wheelchair accessible. The first three rows of seating are flat on the floor.
- Three wheelchair seats, with companion seats are available. Accessible bathrooms are available.
- A hearing loop is available throughout the auditorium.

- Five wheelchair spaces are available in the stalls
- Companion seating is available next to each wheelchair space
- The entire ground floor area is wheelchair accessible
- Accessible toilet
- Lift access to the upstairs function room area and the dress circle auditorium, but not the gallery
- Disabled parking is available outside the east entrance door
- There is a bus stop a couple of doors down from the venue.

Ticketing is done through Ticketek.
There is limited on-street parking next to the theatre, but is is recommended you arrive early due to high demand. All individuals who have mobility restrictions should contact the theatre with how we can assist. We may be able to reserve spaces pending availability.

- There are 6-8 wheelchair spaces available, all with companian seats.
- There is no lift access to higher levels. Reaching the Balcony requires several flights of stairs. The auditorium bar is also inaccessible due to stairs.
- It is recommended that patrons with vertigo avoid sitting in the Balcony level.
- Patrons with guide dogs are recommended to book seats in the wheelchair section giving dogs the ability to lie down.
- There is no bariatric seating, however the arms of chairs can be removed. This would be especially easy for aisle seating. Please contact the venue is this is required.
- There is currently no hearing aid loop in the venue.

- One disabled parking space is available in the Tiffin Street carpark adjacent to the main Pan Pack Foyer, with an additional two disabled parking spots in the parking building to the left of the Napier Port foyer.

- Lifts provide access to all areas of the theatre for functions and events (please note that accessible seating is just located in the stalls)
- Accessible toilets are located on each level
- There are 3 public disabled car parking spaces near to the venue, one on Broadway Avenue and two on King Street
- Venue is accessible via public transport

- The stalls area is wheelchair accessible. Access is not possible to the circle

- Wheelchair access is through the side of the theatre.
- There is a flight of steps separating the ground floor and the bar.

The St. James theatre does not have allocated parking. Limited street parking is available on Courtney Place.
- There are 8 wheelchair seats, all with companion seating, available in the stalls. Accessible bathrooms are available on the ground floor.
- There is lift access to the Dress Circle, but there are a small number of stairs to reach the seats.
- Patrons with vertigo should avoid the Dress Circle and Grand Circle layers.
- An audio loop covers the entire venue.
- Guide dogs welcome

The Sir Howard Morrison Centre is committed to making performances accessible to a wide range of audience members, offering audio description, wheelchair access, mobility parking and is service dog friendly. This facility is also proudly part of the Safe Space Alliance.

- There are three wheelchair seats available, each with companion seats.
- The Theatre Royal does not have any lift access to the dress circle. Accessible bathrooms are available on the ground floor.
- The ‘Listen Everywhere’ system is available. Venue staff can provide hardware in order to access it, or assist with downloading the app onto your mobile device.

There are two accessible carparks on Eastbourne Street, and four in the Baker Tilly Staples Roadway Carpark. These are all free of charge.
Toitoi does not have a virtual tour, however patrons are welcome to book a time to visit the venue in person before attending a performance.

- There are four wheelchair seats available at all times, with the potential to add more if demand requires. These have companion seats.
- Lift access is available to the Dress Circle, but not the Grand Circle. The Grand Circle Bar is also inaccessible.
- Accessible bathrooms are available within the venue.
- Patrons with vertigo are suggested to avoid the Grand Circle. Higher seats in the Dress Circle may also present challenges depending on severity.
- A hearing aid loop is available in the stalls.

- There is a separate accessible entrance to the auditorium for wheelchairs. The dress circle and main entrance to the auditorium are not accessible.

- Patrons with vertigo are recommended to avoid seats in the dress circle.
- Guide dogs are welcome, and the venue is happy to accommodate them in anyway.
- A hearing aid loop is available in all parts of the theatre.
