For the very first time in New Zealand, the RNZB Foundation has secured the rights for a special one-off Wellington screening of Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake – The Legend Returns, filmed live at London’s Sadler’s Wells Theatre in 2019.

Matthew Bourne’s groundbreaking Swan Lake offers an exciting reimagining of the traditional ballet loved by millions and it has taken the dance world by storm – you may remember its famous choreography featured in the film Billy Elliot. Even if you have been fortunate enough to see the live stage performance, this screen version brings another dimension to the ballet – quite simply, it’s breathtaking!
