Kristie grew up in Blenheim where she began dancing from the age of six, and teaching from the age of fifteen. She enjoys teaching many styles of dance including ballet, contemporary, jazz and salsa. Kristie holds a PhD in Dance Studies from the University of Auckland and continues to be involved in sharing her work globally through publications and conferences. Kristie was awarded the Caroline Plummer Fellowship in Community Dance in 2020 at the University of Otago, where she taught dance at a Corrections Facility, local schools and the wider community. Kristie is passionate about making dance accessible, inclusive and responsive for diverse communities.
