Berys came to work in the education team at the Royal New Zealand Ballet at the beginning of 2018, after working for many years as a musician and arts administrator. Inspired by attending RNZB performances as a small child in her hometown of Rotorua in the late 1950’s she was an enthusiastic dance student as a child. Later she turned her attention to studying music and spent many years playing the viola professionally, including in the pit for RNZB productions. She has worked for major music presenters in New Zealand and Australia and more latterly at the New Zealand School of Music. Her role as education co-ordinator brings together her love of dance and her enthusiasm for sharing the artform with as many people as possible.
