The Queen visits the New Zealand Ballet Company

Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Billy T James, Phil Warren and Jon Trimmer, following the Royal Gala Performance in 1981. Sir Jon is wearing a costume designed by Kristian Fredrikson for Titania Wakes, a pièce d’occasion created by Harry Haythorne to John Ritchie’s Clarinet Concertino. Harry recalled that as the Company were on tour to Queensland at the time of the gala, a piece had to be created for just three dancers (Jon, Linda Anning and Allan Barry, plus actor Jonathan Hardy as Bottom) who flew back specially.
