COVID-19 Updates for Public Events

This page was last reviewed on 2 August 2022. Information on this page will be reviewed daily.

We follow the standard COVID-19 Safety Guidelines as outlined by the New Zealand Government’s COVID-19 Protection Framework.

Dancers and touring staff are 100% vaccinated as are all staff at venues we perform in. Read our COVID-19 Policy here, or get in touch if you have any questions.

All venues remain in ORANGE as of 2 August 2022, following the New Zealand Government’s guidelines.

We welcome the move to lift restrictions on indoor gathering numbers across Aotearoa and look forward to working with our colleagues at venues across the motu to offer safe and enjoyable experiences for audiences as we prepare our new ballet – The Ryman Healthcare Season of Cinderella – for its world premiere at the newly renovated St James Theatre in August. We can’t think of a better excuse to get together, get dressed up and get back in the theatre.

We will update this page if we make any changes to our COVID-19 health and safety policies or there are changes in government advice.

Life at Orange

The Ryman Healthcare Season of Cinderella tour will be performing in all scheduled performance centres from 3 August to 3 September. Any changes to performance dates/times will be updated accordingly on our website and across our communications channels.

The show must go on, so we at the RNZB strongly encourage the use of face masks before, during and after the performance to limit the spread of illness in accordance with government guidelines.

If you are unwell, for your own comfort and that of those around you, please stay home. If you are unable to use your tickets due to illness, please contact your point of purchase (RNZB, Ticketmaster, Ticketek, Regent Theatre Dunedin) as soon as possible to discuss your options for exchange or refund.

Specific rules will vary by venue, so please visit the performance venues’ websites for requirements.

From 11:59pm on 4 April 2022, there will be no requirement for venues to use My Vaccine Pass.

After 4 April, the decision to use or not use My Vaccine Pass will be specific to each venue.

Please call before coming into the Willeston Street office to purchase subscription tickets. Normal ticket dispatch has resumed but may be subject to unavoidable delays due to courier issues.

If you are arranging tickets through the RNZB at short notice we recommend that if possible you collect tickets from our ticketing desk at the theatre, before the performance in question.
