Jan joined RNZB in July 2018.  She was born and bred in Southland and studied in Dunedin, gaining a Bachelor of Commerce Degree, majoring in Accounting, from the University of Otago.  Jan is a Chartered Accountant (CAANZ) and a Chartered member of the Institute of Directors NZ.  She began her career in Public Practice at BDO specialising in audit services before moving to the Corporate Sector as Company Accountant with Southfert, Group Financial Accountant with Ballance Agri-Nutrients and Group Financial Controller with Alliance Group.  Jan also has considerable goverance experience including 10 years on the board of Calvary Hospital in Invercargill with 3 years as Chairperson gaining valuable experience in the Charities/NFP sector.  Jan leads the Finance Team and is also responsible for IT in her role with RNZB.
