Jennifer Ulloa joins the Royal New Zealand Ballet after a decade of performing with ballet companies in South and Central America and the USA. From 2016 – 22, Jennifer was a member of Ballet Nacional de Sodre in Uruguay, where her repertoire included the title role in Marcia Haydee’s Carmen, Carabosse in The Sleeping Beauty, the Sugarplum Fairy in The Nutcracker and Stella in A Streetcar Named Desire by Mauricio Wainrot, as well as works by Jiří Kylián, Kenneth MacMillan, Anna Marie Holmes, Nacho Duato, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, George Balanchine and John Cranko.
Prior to her role in Uruguay, Jennifer was a member of the Ballet Nacional Dominicano in the Dominican Republic from 2013 – 15. She trained at the ENDANZA National School of Dance in the Dominican Republic and participated in summer schools in Cuba, Grand Rapids Ballet in Michigan, USA, where she also undertook a traineeship in 2012, and with Alvin Ailey, the Joffrey Ballet School and The Royal Ballet School. Jennifer has also appeared as a guest artist in Argentina (Carabosse in The Sleeping Beauty) and the Dominican Republic (the Sugarplum Fairy) and participated in international festivals in Cannes and Colombia.
