Edward Smith

Edward Smith was a member of The Australian Ballet from 2016 – 19. He performed principal and solo roles in both classical and contemporary repertoire on the company’s regional tours as well as featured and corps de ballet roles. As well as touring throughout Australia, Edward performed on international tours including at the National Centre for Performing Arts in Beijing.

He participated in world premieres, including Alice Topp’s Aurum, Lucas Jervies’ Spartacus and Tim Harbour’s Squander and Glory. Edward trained at The Australian Ballet School and participated in the 2014 student exchange programme with Canada’s National Ballet School. Edward joined the RNZB as a guest for The Sleeping Beauty in 2020 and continues as a company member for 2021.

Edward is currently taking a leave of absence to undertake a professional opportunity in Australia.
