Safe working practices

The Royal New Zealand Ballet adheres to or exceeds all official safe working practices both at home and abroad.

Sound

Dependent on repertoire. Contact the Production Department for further information.

Lighting

Dependent on repertoire. Contact the Production Department for further information.

Wardrobe area

A fully fitted area, including washing machines and dryers and hot and cold water supply.

Dressing rooms

To accommodate 37 dancers and 10 staff with shower facilities.

Heating

All backstage areas including stage house to a minimum of 23 degrees Celsius.

  • Proscenium opening – 12 metres
  • Setting line to furthest upstage batten – 12 metres
  • Setting line to upstage wall – 14 metres
  • Stage width including wings – 22 metres
  • Width between fly floors – 18 metres
  • Stage to grid height – 18 metres

A minimum of 40 counter-weight lines
