Philanthropy Manager

A great opportunity has arisen within our successful development team to lead our philanthropy function.  In this role you will actively and strategically manage relationships with personal supporters of the RNZB, from “grass roots” donors such as the Friends of the Royal New Zealand Ballet through to high level benefactors.  You will provide leadership to a Development Co-ordinator and manage our regular giving, major gifts and legacy programmes.  This role develops, manages and maximises the potential of the RNZB’s relationships with private supporters, increasing income from this source both through the scale of gifts made and the number of supporters involved with the organisation.

The RNZB is at an exciting stage of its development.  With a move back into our permanent home at the St James Theatre planned for next year the company has a bright future ahead.  This move involves a capital fundraising campaign to upgrade the company’s rehearsal, well-being, production and administrative facilities and the Philanthropy Manager will play a central role in this.

We are looking for a special someone with a proven track record of fundraising success, preferably within an arts or arts-related organisation.  You will have exceptional interpersonal skills, able to manage relationships strategically and tactfully, including those with donors, artists, senior management and Board.  You will have a methodical and systematic approach to donor relationships, including research, planning and record-keeping.  You will also have experience in using CRM systems, preferably Tessitura.

If you are an experienced fundraiser and would like to be part of the exciting future of the RNZB we would love to hear from you.
