Job description

Unique chance to join our full-time administrative team and make a genuine impact on Aotearoa New Zealand’s cultural community.

We are looking for an Executive Assistant / People and Culture Administrator to provide high level administrative support to the Executive Director, Artistic Director, RNZB Board and Director of People and Culture. You will work closely with the Executive Director and Artistic Director to provide high level administrative support including diary management, travel logistics and drafting correspondence. You will act as the Board secretary which includes taking minutes and managing all administrative requirements for the Board. This role also supports the Director of People and Culture with human resources administration.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

Executive Assistant

  • Provide high quality, timely, executive support to the Executive Director and the Artistic Director, including diary management, travel and accommodation booking
  • Prepare and collate Board and Audit and Risk Committee papers
  • Prepare and collate information required for Ministry of Culture and Heritage quarterly reporting, RNZB annual reports and strategic plans

Board Secretary

  • Board meeting administration including preparing board papers
  • Minute taking
  • Trustee travel and accommodation bookings

HR Administrator

  • Assist with recruitment process
  • Coordinate offers of employment
  • Maintain personnel files
  • Maintain position descriptions

 

About you

  • Minimum two years’ experience in an Executive / Personal Assistant or transferable skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • High level of organisational, time management and prioritising skills as well as written and oral communication skills
  • Experience with supporting a Board and taking minutes is essential
  • Human Resources administration experience would be desirable
  • Exercise a high-level of confidentiality and professional conduct.
  • An ability to work co-operatively with senior staff in the Ministers’ Office and other national agencies
  • A curiosity and interest in RNZB’s outputs is desirable.

Job description

Unique chance to join our workshop and production team and make a genuine impact on Aotearoa New Zealand’s cultural community.

We’re currently on the search for a full time Head Mechanist, based in our Wellington premises, reporting into the Production Manager. This is a touring role.
In this role, you will help ensure that all Royal New Zealand Ballet performances are technically delivered to a consistently high standard and ensure the safety of all dancers and technical staff.

 

Day to day you’ll be responsible for:

  • Running all theatre pack-ins/ outs, assisting with technical set up for RNZB events.
  • Leading and supervising stage crew during performances. Maintaining sets during and after tours.
  • Assisting with fabrication of specific set elements and sourcing of rehearsal props.
  • Pre-production and planning with the Technical Director and Production Manager
  • Assisting with technical and touring logistics, including documentation.
  • Health and Safety / First Aid in the workshop and on the road as required

 

Who and what are we looking for?

  • A clean driver’s licence
  • EWP Licence
  • Competent Rigger
  • Exceptional organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
  • Previous experience working with a touring performing arts company is preferable
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong experience managing Health and Safety
  • Confident leadership skills
