Linda Messina

Linda Messina was born in Sicily. She began her vocational training aged 11 at the National Academy of Dance in Rome, and from the age of 16 trained at the Ballet School of La Scala, Milan, graduating in 2007.

Linda’s professional engagements include contracts with the Opéra National Ballet du Rhin, Maggiodanza (Florence), the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and the Staatstheater Nurnberg Ballet. Her repertoire includes works by William Forsythe, Francesco Ventriglia, Andonis Foniadakis (Les Noces), George Balanchine (Four Temperaments), Matz Ek (The Sleeping Beauty), Maurice Béjart and Jiří Kylián (6 Dances), Patrice Bart (Swan Lake) and Ohad Naharin (Minus 16).

Linda joined the RNZB in August 2015 and has since performed in Neil Ieremia’s Passchendaele and Andonis Foniadakis’ Selon désir. During the RNZB’s 2015 tour to the UK and Italy, in Francesco Ventriglia’s The Wizard of Oz, as a Wili in Ethan Stiefel and Johan Kobborg’s Giselle, and as one of the Fairies in Liam Scarlett’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Hong Kong and Wellington at the end of 2016.
