Felipe Domingos was born in São Paulo, Brazil, and started dancing at the age of 10 with Ballet Paula Gasparini. Felipe has excelled at a number of international ballet competitions, where he was invited to join the Princess Grace Academy in Monte Carlo and the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School at American Ballet Theatre, in New York. In January 2015, Felipe joined the New Zealand School of Dance on scholarship. Felipe’s repertoire includes George Balanchine’s Tarantella and Agon, Sir Kenneth MacMillan’s Concerto and Anna-Marie Holmes’ staging of Paquita. Felipe aspires to dance in the United States one day. Felipe joined the RNZB, his first professional appointment, in January 2016. He performed in all three of the RNZB’s domestic tours in 2016, including the demanding solo role of the Guardian of the Emerald City in The Wizard of Oz, and also appeared as one of the Rustics in A Midsummer Night’s Dream in Hong Kong and Wellington.
In 2017 Felipe performed in both Carmen and L’Arlesienne by Roland Petit, Episode 31 and Cacti by Alexander Ekman as part of the Three By Ekman triple bill, and the world premiere of Francesco Ventriglia’s Romeo and Juliet.
