RNZB Company Auditions

RNZB Artistic Director, Patricia Barker, holds live auditions annually in Wellington, New Zealand. Auditions are by invite only.

RNZB welcomes expressions of interest from dancers all year round. Please email a current resume, headshot, 2-3 dance photos (.jpg format) and a link to video footage to auditions@rnzb.org.nz

Video footage should include a known classical variation (pointe shoes for ladies) and an excerpt from a contemporary work, and excerpts from a classical and contemporary pas de deux for males.

 

Executive Assistant/HR Administrator

The Royal New Zealand Ballet is a company of dynamic dancers from diverse backgrounds and presents an eclectic repertoire of classic and contemporary works both across the country and beyond New Zealand shores.

Established in 1953, this year the company celebrates its 65th anniversary with a kaleidoscope of unforgettable dance, from world premieres to festive favourites.

We are looking for an experienced Executive Assistant to join our high performing team.

This role is busy and varied and puts you right at the hub of the ballet supporting the Executive Director and Board and providing HR administration support to the Director of People and Culture.

You will be responsible for providing diary management, travel booking, minute taking and providing support to the Executive Director by reading, researching and routing correspondence, drafting letters and documents, collecting and analysing information.  For the Board you will organise and attend meetings, take minutes and organise travel.  For HR you will provide support with recruitment, induction, maintaining personal files, position descriptions and drafting employment offers.

To be successful in this role you will need to be very proactive and organised.  You will be an excellent relationship manager and understand the need for high levels of confidentiality.  Previous experience in a senior executive assistant role is necessary.  You will have well developed skills in the Microsoft office suite.  You will be flexible and resilient.  If you love the ballet and the arts this could be your dream job.

Events and Partnerships Manager

A vacancy has arisen within our Marketing and Development team for an Events and Partnerships Manager.

If organising and hosting events, developing and building strong relationships is what excites you and you have a passion for the arts and ballet this could be your dream role.

This role supports the development team in developing and maintaining funding relationships with corporate sponsors, individual supporters, trusts and foundations.

The role involves some travel, including going out on the road with the company when they tour.

We are looking for someone experienced in event management. You will have excellent written and oral presentation skills, exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to manage relationships strategically and tactfully.  You will be exceptionally organised and able to manage and prioritise a diverse range of relationships.  You will be methodical and systematic in your approach to sponsor relationships and good at researching, planning and record-keeping.  Experience in a client relationship management database is required.

Stage Manager

The Royal New Zealand Ballet is a company of dynamic dancers from diverse backgrounds and presents an eclectic repertoire of classic and contemporary works both across the country and beyond New Zealand shores.

Established in 1953, this year the company celebrates its 65th anniversary with a kaleidoscope of unforgettable dance, from world premieres to festive favourites.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Production Team for an experienced Stage Manager.

This role is key to ensuring the successful production and stage management of all RNZB presentations.  You will work closely with our technical team on planning and execution of RNZB seasons ensuring that all elements of the performances run smoothly and are delivered to a consistently high standard.  The role is based in Wellington but is a touring role and will require you to tour both domestically and internationally in line with the RNZB touring schedule.

We are looking for someone with a minimum of five years experience in a stage management role.  You will have the ability to read music scores, working knowledge of dance and experience with a touring company.  You will manage contract staff so management experience is necessary as is holding a clean drivers licence.  Excellent communication and relationship management skills are essential and you will be someone who thrives under pressure.   In return you will join a team that is passionate and creative and get the satisfaction of being part of delivering world-class performances that delight audiences throughout New Zealand and the world.
