RNZB has contracts available for 2018/2019 and is now accepting artist applications.
To submit your application email email@example.com with your current resume, headshot, 2-3 dance photos (.jpg format) and a link to video footage. Video footage links should be youtube or vimeo links, not dropbox or google drive.
Video footage should include a known classical variation (pointe shoes for ladies) and an excerpt from a contemporary work, and excerpts from a classical and contemporary pas de deux for males.

Interest in performing arts and deep insight to the New Zealand context, combined with strong personal and professional credibility will be essential. The successful candidate will be a collaborative leader with well-developed relationship skills and an innovative approach to building and funding capability. The ability to think critically and respond creatively in a dynamic and challenging environment will be vital.

The Royal New Zealand Ballet (RNZB) invites applications for three Trustees to join its Board. The vacancies relate to a three year term commencing 1 January 2019.
Trustees retiring in December 2018 on the expiration of their terms are Candis Craven (Auckland) and Ros Burdon (Christchurch). In addition John Ryan (Wellington) will resign from the Board when he takes up his new appointment as Auditor-General of New Zealand.
The RNZB is a company of dancers that brings world-class classical and contemporary ballet to a wide range of New Zealanders. Performing to community and paid audiences, the RNZB aspires to be a compelling expression of New Zealand’s creative spirit, delighting with the traditional and inspiring with the new. It has a turnover in excess of $13 million and performed to over 100,000 people in 2017.
Particular skills/competencies sought
The roles, together with other trustees, are responsible for governance of all aspects of the business, setting the strategic direction for the organisation, reflecting the interests of stakeholders and ensuring the organisation contributes to our national identity and story.
We are seeking talented Trustees with strong governance experience.
Across the three appointments we will be looking for skills and experience in audit and risk, the digital environment and classical dance experience to complement and strengthen the expertise of our current Board.
All applicants must have a genuine interest in and passion for ballet and proven commercial acumen.
The Royal New Zealand ballet has a commitment to diversity and is seeking applicants that reflect New Zealand’s cultural identity. Consideration will also be given to support our regional diversity, complementing our current Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin based trustees.
Six meetings per year plus committee work. This totals approximately 100 hours annually.
